Difference between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 

Web 1.0:

Web 2.0:
  • Theory that websites increasingly offered the potential for audience participation ad collaboration 
  • David gauntlet suggested that traditional models of media were gradually being eroded and consumers were given a voice through enhanced web technologies becoming prosumers 
Web 3.0:
  • Semantic web John Markoff 2006
  • Process of allowing machines to understand the meaning of hyperlinked information to personalise content to audiences
  • Web becomes intelligent it tracks your preferences and habits. Personalised advertisements can reach you
Web 4.0:
  • The future
  • Database of personal information
  • Potential for intelligent avatar agents acting, for example as shopping assistants for audiences 
Semantic search:
  • When search engine your using looks for literal matches of the query or words you input without understanding the actual meaning of your enquiry 
Social media channels:
  • Used by individual members of the public, media producers, celebrities, commercial, businesses, political activists, news agencies, charities and many other groups to communicate and reach out to audiences 
  • Channels/platforms means same thing 
  • The channels are the different types of products used in order to do this

It is also a streaming service to enable others to access new music simply. It allows musicians to collaborate with one another through requests for partnership with others


Pessimistic vs optimistic 

Optimistic:

Pessimistic:
  • Spreads hate hate crime 
  • Scams credit fraud identity theft 
  • Viral spread fake news

Web 1.0 was very static and plain whereas Web 2.0 was able for participant collaboration.

Semantic web is when your search engine looks for literal matches of query without understanding your question.

Prosumers someone who produces and consumes
